Las Vegas and champagne go together like peanut butter and jelly, so as long as we live, there will never be such a thing as too many champagne bars in our sparkling city. Fizz is the latest one. Situated on the casino floor at Caesars Palace, this Las Vegas lounge shines like a 2,750 square foot beacon of delicious bubbly-ness. It’s one of the only places in town you can order super-fancy champagnes by the glass (think Dom Perignon, Krug and Perrier Jouet Brut Fleur de Champagne), and features about 27 champagnes by the bottle. A partnership between local M3 and Elton John’s husband David Furnish, it’s naturally next door to The Colosseum, where John is a resident performer.
Technically still in its soft opening, Fizz will pop the cork for a huge grand opening when John returns to play new dates of “The Million Dollar Piano” starting March 29. Being that this Brit power couple defines fabulosity, everything from the carefully curated menu to the lounge décor is designed to a T. And we kind of want to live there. Here’s why:
1. It has gold doors, and looks like a luxurious mansion inside. Like John’s jewelry box. A gold Narnia. Aladdin’s magic lamp. Need we say more? (Ok, we’ll go on…)
2. It’s like hanging in Elton’s living room. John is a huge fan of skulls, and put these cool lights in the bathroom.
3. There’s weird art by really famous people. And we dig it. Unfortunately, no pictures are allowed of said art, so here’s a pretty champagne cocktail pic.
4. With sexy bronze glass and cream leather décor, it sets the mood for getting a tipsy champagne high. Even the lights look like bubbles.
5. There’s a caviar menu to pair with your bubbles so you can party like you’re on the “Real Housewives.” Topics of conversation may include the frustration of downsizing to a 50,000 square foot home and how to handle one of your nannies going on vacation.
6. Its oversized champagne bucket has rare, vintage and exclusive bottles bubbly that make you want to break into a rap song and make it rain.
7. There’s a $2,500 drink on the menu. Like a rich person’s sizzurp, the Fizz Deluxe only includes the top-shelf stuff. Combining Grand Marnier Quintessence, Hennessy Richard Cognac, Fee Brothers lemon bitters, Monin rose syrup and egg whites. The creation is topped with Dom Perignon Rose Champagne, a rose petal and 24-karat gold flake.
8. To maintain its seductive mystique, you’re not allowed to take pictures inside. (To tide you over until you start Fizz-ing, here’s a rendering that looks like real thing.)
9. You’ll be itching to hold court at its private upstairs VIP room—an area that you can see, but never go near. (The one-booth table is reserved as the couple’s hangout when he’s in town, and guests of his when he’s not). It’s to the upper left of these posh entrance-way curtains.
10. Even its non-champagne cocktails (like this Jamaica Jerk Off) are supreme examples of mixology.
11. And the most important reason of all: bubbles are pretty.
