From rave reviews to celeb guests, Nobu celebrates one year

On the heels of its one-year mark, boutique gem Nobu Hotel at Caesars Palace has received quite the anniversary gift. Luxury Travel Advisor named it the “Top North America Hotel Opening in 2013”, beating out other big name properties around the country. But Las Vegas didn’t used to be the first place that came to mind when thinking of a peaceful retreat, that is until the David Rockwell-designed Nobu Hotel opened its doors exactly one year ago. The Luxury Travel Advisor honor is the latest in a string of praise for the hotel, including being named among the Hottest New Hotels of 2013 by CNN Travel and the Nobu brand included among luxury’s 25 Most Innovative Brands by “Robb Report.”

With the luxe brand name’s cache behind it, the 181-room hotel opened to great fanfare and praise as it brought a lot of new “firsts” to Las Vegas. It’s the world’s first Nobu Hotel project—a venture between enigmatic culinary genius Nobu Matsuhisa, Caesars Palace, and Nobu Hospitality primary shareholders Robert De Niro and Hollywood film producer Meir Teper—and is anchored by the world’s largest Nobu restaurant on the first level. The sprawling, 12,775-square-foot hot spot is a visually stunning design masterpiece and features rare sakes, Vegas-exclusive menu items and chef Nobu’s signature melt-in-your-mouth creations. It’s also the only U.S. Nobu with interactive teppanaki tables, which take dining experiences to a whole new level.

But more than anything, the Nobu experience is an all-encompassing, relaxing getaway set just steps away from any action desired. The hotel tower’s placement in the center of Caesars Palace means you can retreat in the room and enjoy posh, Zen-like amenities and head downstairs for a light meal at Nobu or play some table games. Cocktails in a Nobu lounge, a show at The nearby Colosseum and a spin on the High Roller wheel at The LINQ (also just a quick walk away) can make it an all-nighter.

“Some of the coolest moments from the past year include Nobu Loyal patron flying to Las Vegas from Capetown to stay at Nobu Hotel, a wedding in the Nobu suite and regular guests who stays with us eight times since we opened,” says Gigi Vega, general manager of Nobu Hotel Caesars Palace.

The brand’s exemplary quality and service is evident in its attention to detail, including the 18 heavely suites and in-room dining menu crafted by Nobu himself. (Green tea waffles and bento boxes, anyone?). Fine bath products by Natura Bisse and the lavender sheet spray are small touches that add to the relaxation.

Up next for the hot spot? The unveiling of its long awaited sky-top Nobu Villa. Located on Nobu Hotel’s top floor, the 10,300 square foot masterpiece debuts this June.
