International best-selling author James Frey’s upcoming Caesars Palace event is looking to be as enthralling and dramatic as his newest book trilogy, “Endgame.” The newly released first book, “Endgame: The Calling” is an adventure-packed apocalyptic series with a non-fictional twist. More than a page-turner, it’s also an interactive puzzle comprised of clues that will lead to the location of a hidden key. The first reader to solve the book’s complex puzzle and find the key will unlock a prized case of gold coins in Las Vegas, worth $500,000.

Frey is hosting a glitzy public event on Friday, Oct. 17 at 2:30 p.m. on the casino floor near Payard Patisserie & Bistro. Frey will dramatically unveil the gold display for the first time and say a few words about his highly-anticipated project. He’s also doing a book signing and meet and greet the following day, Saturday, Oct. 18 from 11 a.m-1 p.m. in the same area. The gold will be on display in a secured case at Caesars until the puzzle is solved.

“The mega puzzle included in the first book deploys technology and social media in a way that brings people beyond their borders,” says Frey. “A book can be more than what’s on the page. It can take you out into the real world; it can take you out into the digital world. The stakes are not only high for the characters in “Endgame,” they are high for the readers who try to solve the puzzle too.”

Can’t make it to Vegas? Anyone can catch the Sin City action on the livestream of the gold display.
