The best bites: seven must-try dishes at Las Vegas restaurants

Calling all foodies! Whether you’re ready to food map your way through the top Las Vegas restaurants or have a certain amount of “splurge” money to spend wisely, the Strip is home to several uber-famous, must-try dishes (and unique drinks). Renowned for their all-around life changing deliciousness, use this guide as a checklist to sample some out-of-this-world bites on your Vegas vacation.

Artichoke and Black Truffle Soup | Restaurant Guy Savoy Truffles are destined to be on this list. Whether you’ve never tried truffled anything or live and breathe for these magical mushrooms, the Artichoke and Black Truffle Soup is nearly as world-famous as the chef who created it, Guy Savoy. Creamy and rich, the mind-blowing concoction is a best-seller at Caesars Palace’s Restaurant Guy Savoy, and uses black truffles, shaved Parmesan and artichoke hearts. The accompanying bread (a dreamy toasted mushroom brioche with truffle butter) is an important ritual to Savoy, as he is known for noting that the bread needs to be dipped in the soup and eaten together.

Baked Goat Cheese and Tomato appetizer | Mon Ami Gabi Diners at this Paris Las Vegas haunt are frequently guilty of making this dish a meal—or ordering more than one. The plate of heaven is an appetizer but could easily be a supplementary bite to any of Mon Ami’s steaks or seafood. The hot, creamy tomato sauce boasts browned, melted goat cheese, pesto and a baguette topped with garlic and butter. Calories don’t count on vacation!

Miso Black Cod | Nobu If you only have one dish from Nobu at Caesars Palace, make it his much talked-about signature, the black cod with miso. Chef Nobu Matsuhisa’s famous business partner, Robert De Niro, frequently raves about the cod being his personal favorite. Pair it with one of Nobu’s notable libations, like the cucumber martini.

Lemon Spaghetti | Giada In her first-ever restaurant venture, powerhouse chef and Food Network goddess Giada De Laurentiis has brought one of her lauded favorites, lemon spaghetti, to the masses. Her Giada hot spot at The Cromwell features many of her the savory bites she’s long-featured in her cookbooks and on “Giada at Home,” but the lemon spaghetti is a definite standout. Basil and some juicy shrimp make this not only flavorful, but light as well, leaving room for plenty of her antipasti bar bites.

Sticky Toffee Pudding | Gordon Ramsay Pub & Grill Serving as Ramsay’s presentation of authentic English pub fare at Caesars Palace, there are a lot of choices to dig into before you hit dessert. (These include the charcuterie board of cured meat, red wine braised short rib sandwich, lobster mac and cheese, Shepherd’s Pie and English ale onion soup.) But whether you finish off your meal with this sweet ending or stop by for an order, this unique sweet treat melts in your mouth—or maybe that’s just the accompanying sweet cream ice cream.

Meatballs | Rao’s Hearty, oversized and slathered in marinara sauce and Italian breadcrumbs, the meatballs at Rao’s have always been one of its most popular items—both in its original New York City location and Las Vegas. Comprised of a pork, beef and veal mix, this seasoned side dish is legendary.

…And everything at Gordon Ramsay Steak It’s hard to pick just one item at Paris’ Gordon Ramsay Steak. In fact, it’s impossible, so here’s a rundown of shareable items for the table that you can’t miss. Even the first inkling of food—the bread presentation—incites carb heaven, with samplings including lemon thyme focaccia and black truffle bread. At minimum, order the smoked beef tartare appetizer, Ramsay’s famous Beef Wellington and a side of mac & cheese.
